Christmas in August:

Christmas in August provides a simple way you can directly help a North American missionary.  Every year WMU and the North American Mission Board partner to select missionaries who will be featured in Christmas in August. These missionaries provide a list of items they need for ministry and outreach. Please help local NAMB Missionaries David and Kathy Parsons in Winston-Salem, NC.   You can download additional information about David and Kathy Parsons and their list of needs here. 

 

There are several ways your church can help:

• You can pray for these missionaries.

• You can write letters of encouragement.

• You can collect items and send a box of items needed.

Pure Water Pure Love:  

SBA WMU supports National WMU’s Compassion Ministry Pure Water, Pure Love (PWPL).   PWPL works to supply missionaries with water filters, provide the people they serve with wells that offer clean water, supply missions teams with water filters for use on short-term mission trips, and provide clean water resources to WorldCrafts artisan groups.  Deadline for Making Monetary Donations:  September 30 - Check payable to SBA.

Red Box Prison Ministry - Christmas in July:  

SBA WMU also supports the Red Box Prison Ministry.  Prison Ministry WMU NC has a long history with prison ministry. Women across the state have provided inmates with Red Boxes filled with toiletries, a Gospel tract, and small goodies for over 50 years. For some inmates, this maybe the only gift they receive at Christmas.  We will be collecting funds to purchase books for the prison ministry.  Monetary donations are due July 31 - check payable to SBA.    https://www.wmunc.org/prison-ministry

Surry Medical Ministries

SBA WMU supports our local Surry Medical Ministries.  Your group can contribute to the Surry Medical Food Ministry by providing food or monetary donations to the SBA WMU.  With these donations, the SBA WMU then provides bags of food once a month to patients at the Surry Medical Ministry clinic.  Items needed include canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned meats (Treet, chicken, beef stew), soup, crackers, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, and Ramen noodles..   Contact SBA (789 - 5701) for more information.
